The role of the Occupational Health and Welfare Services Provider (the Service Provider) is to provide the 3 Ayrshire Councils with an Occupational Health and Welfare Service that allows the participating Council to meet its statutory requirements in relation to work-related ill-health and also addresses other health related activities as identified.

The Service Provider will advise each of the 3 Ayrshire Councils regarding its obligations under the provisions of Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974; the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and other statutory provisions relevant to the Councils’ activities.

The Service Provider will provide each of the 3 Ayrshire Councils with Occupational Health support in the management of employee sickness absence.

The Service Provider will ensure that all information is maintained in a confidential manner compliant with the relevant statutes.
