ACCIONA to host a “Meet the Buyer” event for the Ness waste to energy project in Scotland The main contractor building the new NESS energy from waste plant in Aberdeen is hosting a virtual “Meet the Buyer” event aimed at local businesses on Friday 6 November. The event is being held via Skype at 2 p.m due to COVID-19 restrictions.
During the event, that is going virtual, ACCIONA will offer a brief presentation covering the relevant areas of supply and workscope procurement, including businesses in the construction and associated service sector. The company will also explain the registration process to the ACCIONA Procur-e system and answer any queries or questions.
This “Meet the Buyer” event will give businesses in the construction and associated service sectors across Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray council areas and beyond, the chance to find out about what opportunities exist for supplying to the NESS project. It provides a unique opportunity to interact with ACCIONA.
The Ness Energy from Waste facility is currently being constructed in the Tullos area of Aberdeen, and will take non-recyclable waste from Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray councils and turn it into energy. There will be a ban on biodegradable landfill in Scotland by 2025.
It is expected the facility will generate combined heat and power, providing low cost heat to homes in a neighbouring community.
